Who we are
Smart Investment Pro (also referred to as “Financial Calculator”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a financial utilities application that helps you run calculations, track personal finance transactions, manage financial goals, and read educational content (blogs and tips).
Information we process
2.1 Account information (Firebase Authentication)
If you create an account or sign in, we process account data through Google Firebase Authentication:
- Email address and password (for email/password sign‑in).
- Google account sign‑in data (for Google Sign‑In), such as your Google account identifier, email, display name, and profile photo URL (if provided by Google).
Authentication is handled by Firebase/Google. Passwords are managed by Firebase Authentication and are not stored in plain text by the app.
2.2 App preferences and profile inputs (stored locally)
The app lets you enter preferences and profile‑like information to personalize calculations, such as:
- Age, retirement age, expected inflation rate, risk appetite, investment knowledge, financial goal.
- Monthly income and monthly expenses.
- Currency setting (the app currently uses INR in the Preferences screen).
- Persona quiz selections (if you complete the persona quiz).
These items are stored on your device using local storage (Shared Preferences).
2.3 Personal finance and goals (stored locally)
If you use the personal finance features, you can create and manage:
- Transactions (amount, category, date, description, type).
- Recurring transactions (including schedule details).
- Financial goals (title, target amount, current amount, category, and related metadata).
This information is stored locally on your device using Shared Preferences.
2.4 Calculator history (stored locally)
If you use calculators and choose to save results, the app stores calculation history locally, including a summary and the input/output details used for the calculation.
2.5 CIBIL score helper (local processing + third‑party website)
The app contains a CIBIL score helper screen that opens the CIBIL website inside an in‑app browser (WebView). When you tap “Capture Score”, the app reads the visible page text from the WebView on your device and attempts to detect a score value (300–900). If detected (or manually entered), the score is saved locally on your device.
Any information you enter into the CIBIL website is handled by that website and subject to their policies.
2.6 Content fetching (blogs and financial tips)
The app fetches blogs and financial tips from external API endpoints (for example, dev.inktagon.com). When you load this content, your device will connect to those servers and may share standard connection information (such as IP address, device/connection metadata, and request logs) as part of normal web traffic.
2.7 Support communications
If you contact us through the in‑app “Help & Support” or “Privacy Policy” contact link, your email app will open (mailto). Any information you include in your email is provided directly by you.
How we use information
- To create and maintain your account and allow sign‑in/sign‑out.
- To provide core features: calculations, saved history, goals, and personal finance tracking.
- To personalize the app experience using your preferences (risk profile, goals, persona, etc.).
- To fetch and display educational content (blogs and tips).
- To provide support and respond to your requests.
- To protect the app and users from misuse and to troubleshoot technical issues.
Storage & retention
4.1 On-device storage
The app stores many items locally on your device using Shared Preferences, including preferences, calculation history, transactions, recurring transactions, goals, persona, and (if used) your saved CIBIL score.
- This data generally remains on your device until you delete it within the app (where available) or uninstall the app.
- On Android/iOS, uninstalling the app typically removes the locally stored app data.
4.2 Account data retention (Firebase Authentication)
If you create an account, Firebase Authentication maintains your account records for sign‑in. We retain this data as long as your account exists. If you want your account deleted, contact us at dev.apurba@hotmail.com.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information processed by the app. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
- Account authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication.
- Local app data is stored on your device using Shared Preferences; the protection of that data depends on your device security (screen lock, OS protections, malware protection, etc.).
Your choices & rights
- Access and update: You can update certain preferences within the app.
- Delete local data: You can clear certain stored items (for example, calculation history) where the app provides a clear option, or remove local data by uninstalling the app.
- Sign out: You can sign out of your account from within the app.
- Account deletion request: Email dev.apurba@hotmail.com to request deletion of your Firebase Authentication account.
If you are located in a jurisdiction that provides additional rights (such as access, deletion, objection, or portability), you can request help via the contact email above.
Children’s privacy
The app is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the app after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
